Visiting

Now that Travis is out of the ICU, the visitor limit and the under-12 restriction are lifted — kids are welcome and you don't need to keep the group small.

We still ask that everyone be respectful of the nurses and of Travis's rest — cycle in and out rather than crowding the room or the hallway.

Injuries & the plan ahead

6 broken ribs
Dislocated / torn shoulder
One side — surgery planned, after the knee
Damaged clavicle, other side
Shoulder itself is fine, but that arm is out of use for now
Broken knee
Surgery planned next
Abdomen separated from hip/thigh
Surgery needed, timing not set
Internal bleeding, adrenal gland
Looking good — not a concern right now

With the internal bleeding no longer a concern, the plan is knee surgery first, followed later by shoulder surgery and a repair of the abdominal separation.

He is eating again and has some use of both arms, but neither arm is really usable right now — one shoulder is dislocated and torn, and the other side's clavicle is damaged, so he can't engage either shoulder yet.

For family & friends

This is going to be a long recovery, and Travis is going to be very bored for a lot of it. Please keep him in your thoughts over the coming weeks. We'll keep this page current as things progress, so this is the best place to check before reaching out to the family for the latest.
